  • Text Input: The text you submit for grammar correction, reply generation, conversations, or translation is processed by our AI services. This text is not stored permanently on our servers and is only used for processing your request.
  • Conversation Data: For the Conversation Assistant feature, we store conversation threads, messages, and optional context information (background details and previous messages) in our database. This data is associated with your account and can be deleted at any time.
  • Usage Data: We track your daily request count, character usage, and subscription tier to enforce usage limits and provide accurate billing. This data is stored securely in our database.
  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed and stored securely). We also store your subscription plan and billing information.
  • Billing Information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store subscription status, plan details, and billing history. Credit card information is stored securely by Stripe, not on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide grammar correction, reply generation, conversation assistance, and translation services
  • Store and manage your conversation threads and context information for the Conversation Assistant feature
  • Track usage limits and enforce character/request quotas based on your subscription plan
  • Process payments and manage your subscription through Stripe
  • Improve our AI integration and service quality
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Send important updates about your subscription, billing, and service changes
  • Ensure the security and functionality of our platform

Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously and implement various security measures:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
  • Secure Database: Conversation threads, messages, and context information are stored in a secure PostgreSQL database with industry-standard security practices. Only you can access your conversations.
  • Temporary Processing: Text submitted for grammar correction, reply generation, or translation is processed in real-time and not permanently stored beyond conversation threads.
  • Secure Authentication: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use NextAuth.js for secure session management.
  • Payment Security: All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your credit card information.
  • Data Isolation: Your data is isolated by account. No user can access another user's conversations or personal information.

Third-Party Services

Grammar Helper uses third-party services to provide AI processing and payment processing:

  • Google Gemini 2.0 Flash: Used for grammar correction, reply generation, conversation assistance, and translation when you select Gemini as your AI provider.
  • Groq (LLaMA 3.3 70B): Used for all AI processing modes when you select Groq as your AI provider. Groq offers faster processing with high request limits.
  • Stripe: Handles all payment processing, subscription management, and billing. Credit card information is stored securely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can access all your personal information, including conversation threads, usage history, and subscription details through your account dashboard.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual conversations, conversation threads, or request complete account deletion with all associated data removed from our systems.
  • Correction: You can update or correct your account information, conversation context, and preferences at any time.
  • Export: You can export your conversation data and usage history upon request.
  • Subscription Control: You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period.
  • Opt-Out: You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
